I am a psychiatrist who treats sexual and gender minorities and has strong experience as an advocate in LGBT+ health issues.

I believe that gender identity is not in and of itself a form of mental illness, but struggles around gender identity can cause or worsen mental illness. I assess gender dysphoria and how mental health challenges may or may not be related to the patient’s coping and, when applicable, transitioning process. I have experience writing WPATH letters and working in the health system to have TNG people represented in medical records as appropriately as possible.
