THE WI TRANSGENDER HEALTH DIRECTORY

Kevin Pasternak

Speech-Language Pathologist

Speech therapist

I specialize in gender affirming voice care for gender expansive patients. My goal is to help people find a voice that matches their gender, and this process is often different for each person. Treatment usually includes attention to pitch, resonance, intonation, and other aspects of communication. Services are offered to individuals across the gender spectrum, include those who are trans masculine and gender nonconforming. Patients are seen initially with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat doctor) to make sure that their vocal health is ready to make significant changes. My practice is focused on voice, and I also treat patients who have hoarseness.

I was trained in gender affirming voice care at Emerson College. I co-founded a campus clinic in Boston to provide low-cost voice services to the community. Other training sites include Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center, which was the referral source for gender expansive individuals from Fenway Health, a large LBGTQIA health/resource center.
